mklotz of Datsun NL320 disk retrofit fame is making some sets of the adapters. In fancy colors.

Doug Morrisun from Oregon came up with this idea: the lightest, largest brakes that would fit on the stock struts.

To keep weight down, his idea was to use a solid rotor. Non-vented. He says that for a light 1200 street vehicle there is no fading.

The rotors are 280ZX rear disks.

Rotors are only $20 each new

Remove the 1200 disks from the hub, then put the hub back on

Open in new window

Slip the new disks over the hub

you will need slightly longer wheels studs, from a wreckers or buy them new

258 mm disc brakes -- no fabrication, no welding
* Lightweight disk rotors
* keep your lightweight 1200 disk struts
* fits under 13" aluminum wheels & 14" steel wheels
* No modifications needed to master cylinder

Edit: will fit under 16 & 17" wheels too

The calipers are from:
* Nissan B11/B12 (Sentra/Sunny)
* Nissan Pulsar N12/N13
wrecker are full of these, but re-manufactured are only $21 each

The rotors are from:
* 1982-1983 S130 (280ZX)
* 1982-1988 S110/S12 (200SX)
* 1982-1984 910 six (Maxima)
