Im starting to collect parts for my new engine now, have all the internals but lack the actual engine itself lol.

so im after a bare block and head, condition of the bores doesnt really matter as it will be bored, would like a decent condition head though.. so i dont need the crank rods or pistons, and dont need cams etc.

so if you have either lying around gathering dust give me a holla!

EDIT- must be a turbo block!

wardy

Are you going to use a prepped ca20 crankshaft?

A member had one on SL33PE a 1200 sedan with 85mm bores
supposedly the extra 200cc made a big difference.

spot on oda70.. i considered the ca20 swap, but with the amount of boost and power i plan on, i think i should spend the cash on a billet crank

you have a pick a part in Junee?
Here in melbourne plenty of exa with ca18de
I have the ladderbrace or main bearing girdle spare which
is used on det models that I dont need and long bolts to
suit it just want postage for them.
If you desperately need an engine and cant get one through
ebay or other websites (eg. try aus12.org) I could pull one
out of the exas and just add the girdle and longer bolts.
Youll need to arrange freight using e-go which is about
80-100 bucks up to 130kg on a skid.
Have you thought of doing up an L or K series with the best head
of them all the ka24de? biggest valves, best architecture etc.

Nah D no pick a part as far as 450km away from here. I have like 3 ca18de engines lying around here.. They don't have piston coolers like the det engines. So unfortunately I can't use those from a reliability point of view. I've also considered different engines but the car will be engineered with a ca18 engine number, and I wanna keep it that way to keep the fuzz off my back lol

wardy ive heardthat on some high performance engines, RBs and Subi engines, they actually remove the piston cooler jets to get more oil going to the bearings and such

my CA is built into a DE block so there are no piston coolers in it. i dont see it as that much of an issue given the amount of engines out there that dont have them fitted and are making large amounts of power...im more concerned that my spool rods dont have the bore squirter hole in them like the factory rods did

D, its not the DEs that dont have girdles. its just the early CAs from what ive seen. as both my DEs have had girdles on them, both were silvia engines
