L20B into B310. A few questions

rather then rebuilding the A15 I have, I've decided to go ahead and look into the swap. Now, I want to get everything straight before pulling the existing drivetrain. I'm going to try and do the swap in a single day. Easy as long as everythings already done. The tech wiki isn't really specific got the B310.

My first question is: does the clutch line, speedo cable, etc all bolt up to the L series tranny?

Also, IIRC I read that I can use a driveshaft from a sunny that came with an auto transmission. Is that correct? If so, is there a specific transmission I need in order to do this?

Next, I'd like to know what (if any) crossmember modifications I'm going to need in order to bolt it directly in.

Should I switch to an electric fuel pump at this point, or should I stick to the engine mounted pump?

Thanks in advance for the answers. I'm a noob to L series, so I'll be asking quite a few questions in this thread as I go through the process.

use the stock fuel pump, they are very good

There are many different L20B transmissions. For the 210 you want the short one, same length as the A14 transmissions.

There are many including 63-series and 71-series, and 90 series, each coming in several different lengths.

The transmission that bolts right into a B310 is the one from the Datsun A10 (1978-1979 Datsun 510). It's the 'shorty' transmission same as the original 200SX (1977-1979). Use the miscellaneous parts from the A10 to install it. The A10 and B310 are basically the same chassis, same wheelbase and same suspension but with different engines.

SO after trolling around junkyards locally I wasn't able to find hardly ANY parts, let alone an A10. I suppose I may have to do some fab work for engine/tranny mounts and such.

You wouldn't happen to have side by side pictures of the crossmembers between A10 and B310 would you?

probably better if you just get an a10 crossmember, otherwise there will be no way that you will get it in in a day

even if you had a whole a10 there to get all the parts from, doing it in a day would still be a bit of a task

coz if you dont have the engine in the same spot as the a10 crossmember puts it, then you cant use the a10 gearbox crossmember or tailshaft as they wont line up
then you need to swap to hydraulic clutch, so best to swap in an a10 clutch pedal box
need the a10 speedo cable, a10 radiator. a10 throttle cable

pretty much best off just trying to hunt down a complete A10 to use for the conversion
