mate honestly keep it N/A.. im getting my engine rebuilt at the moment with mazda flat to pistons being bored 90thou over, big cam alot of head work and a stroker kit.. its gonna be pulling a pretty decent figure on a dyno an should be a quick car..its costing me around the same as a bolt on turbo kit but will have more power.. and the sound of twin carbys sound better than a turbo!

Ok I stuffed with the timing before I left work today and it's now going better a 1.5 lancer slowly pulls away lol revs to 5200. I still looking a supercharging or turbo I picked up a ct15 one turbo off a twin turbo 1j Toyota motor bit smaller then the rb20 turbo I was thinking of

Then you need to go ot the basics and stop thinking about forced inducation for the time being. A stock A12 revs to 5000 no problem. Add a weber carb and it should go to 6000 without a noticeable power dropoff.

A stocker generally will rev over 6000 if the springs are good (stock springs) but power drops off fast after 5000, which is the peak torque spot.

Test this in 2nd or 3rd gear. In fourth gear you are areodynamically limited.

If the motor is not torquey, then (in general) using a supercharger is better than a turbo, as blower works better at lower RPMs. but it mostly depends on what you want. Either way it will work.

A12 or A15, the blower configuration will be identical. Intake manifolds are slightly different.

Theres a few pictures of my supercharged A15 under my profile. Drawthrough turbo is way easier I reckon.

That's probably cos A series motors are not very torquey down low and turbos run better at high revs. BUt here's what I found in 2 minutes -
