I reckon youll need luck also, There are containers going to africa from
melbourne and I wonder what happens to them on the way back?
If you get 75% deposits from people you can just stay in africa and live
like a king :)

What usually happens is you get a good show of hands then about a 40% dropout and no-show due to the costs.

If you are putting a lot of money down to buy the lot up front then I would advise you to collect 75% deposits very early on and go from there. Even if you ask for deposits first you will scare most of the sht-talkers away then, so you don't get led into believing that you have more numbers than you actually do.

I have had a number of instances where parts were requested only for them to show up and the buyer disappear or decide he does not want them. So play your cards right and get the punters to put the money on the table at the start.

Good luck, I reckon you will need it.

I just double checked. The prices have gone up. The 1400 motor costs R4250-00 and the 5spd gearbox is R3750-00. boxes about $540- 1400 motor $610. sales@japanauto.co.za . I dont have their website , but they are great to talk to. just email and they will get back to you.

South Africa is ZA. They have no current model 1200-related model as bakkie production stopped in November 2007.

IF anyone could post links for auto parts suppliers in SA, i.e. websites, names & contact info even a Nissan dealer that one could contact that could be helpful.

I've Google searched a bit for SA stuff & its pretty hard to find a store directly. Most recent was trying to find a heater control valve & ended up buying one from B-projects which is fine it'd just be nice to ba able to e-mail or call up a supplier who's supplying for current models as much as is available.

New 5-speeds? When I checked five years ago they were $2700 or $1400 USD i forget which. Direct from Nissan.

Or do you mean "new take off" -- like new but used?
