Flashing too quick means either not enough load on the circuit or too much load
What was wrong with the old can? You said its been repaced ,might be the wrong can which will cause problems too
Earthing problems wont make them flash quiker ,but if you put the parkers on then the indercator on ,the parkers will dim when the indercators flash
Maybe check the globes aswell rueby if they are too small they might not load the flasher can up enough and make then flash quiker
Also you could pull the hazzard switch out and check the contacts ,on izuzus im pretty sure they ran the indercater feed through the hazzard switch ,so might be worth checking it out,
Hope that helps

That happened to my 1200, the winkers were blinking much too slow. One of the bulbs was burned out.

Thanks for that. The steering column comes off tommrrow to see if the hazard switch is playing up.
I have an identical model car that i have been pilfering parts off. The indicater relay/can was working fine in the old one, so i know its fine.
Ill check the globes also for correct voltage. They seem bright enough. ie not too dim or too bright.
ill post back with my results after the hazard switch effort.

Righto update I have replaced indicator relay/can - OK replaced indicator stalk and module - OK checked the globes for correct voltage - OK check hazard switch for correct function - OK Pretty sure its not an earth somewhere as all globes are flashing at equal speed and brightness. Other lights (eg brakes) are not coming on. Checked brake lights, tail lights and reverse lights with the indicators on . it makes no difference and they are all fine as well.
Funny thing is, its exactly the same both left and right, and if I put on the hazard lights, then it flashes at the correct speed.
It has to be a resistance issue somewhere and at a central point, Since when I put the hazard lights on it works correctly, ie the resistance is right. Single side, half the resistance so it flashes twice as fast.
My last resort is to fit an inline resistor on each side, like the ones you should use with LED lights.]
Any one got any ideas to check before i shell out for those?

Might still be the wrong globes ,cos if they arnt the right size eg 12v18w ,12v5w
Might be worth comparing globes from the two cars if they are suposed to be bigger than whats in it that will explain why it works properly with the hazzards on but too quick with one or the other side flashing
Try some larger wattage globed and see if that helps
Good luck
