nah it got further it did this
then i didnt want to make spring or shocks mounts so i cut the whole lot out and 4 linked it with a shortened commodore diff...thats as far as it got
now its been sitting around for the last 2 years doing nothing waiting for an axle to get cut down. did start it the a month or so ago and it kicked over first go after a bit of no fuel starter action to get oil around

but anyway, think the 180b cradle was about 100mm or so too wide for a 1200. as with the stock 180b or 200b wheels, whatever i was running on it, the tyre was rubbing on the outer guard skin if it was at a normal arm angle
but that old style IRS isnt really worth putting in. you would definately want to go a newer style setup that had decent geometry and easier adjustability. and go for something that has a better range of diffs with LSDs to go in

After lots of reading I'm starting to think a beam axle + IRS diff on the original leaf springs might be the go. Simple and low unsprung weight and no tramp issues as ther leaf spring is no longer transfering the torque between body and wheel.

if tramp issues are your only worrie. its not hard to make tramp rods. heaps easier than doing a whole ear end swap

or do away with the leaves and go coils

I'm also thinking using an IRS diff from a more common car means more ratios, cheaper lsd etc. Also sounds like a fun project.

then you'd want to go maddat style and use a s13/14 rear end. im sure you could pick up an s13 cradle pretty cheap
