i would only do an apprenticeship in the mines if you don't want to work in any other industry.
one way to get an apprenticeship is become a trades assistant and make it clear you want to do one

Doing an apprenticeship in the mines certainly has it's perks. My mate is doing a high voltage one in Kalgoorlie, gets an extra bonus every week which is MORE than I was earning in my THIRD year, on top of his wages which are already a heinous amont. All because he lives with his parents in town. Go figure lol, he's only 2nd year too
