Hey Everyone,
Hope the moderates are ok with me posting in my old build thread under a new name. The Ute has changed alot since you all seen her last. Tyres and wheels went from 15x7 +12 all round to 15x8 +0 front and 15x9 -12 rears They have a new medium compound tyre from Avon called the ZZS.. Super grippy !!! With the car having 240kw and only just hitting the 900kg mark there was a major issue with the old wheels and tyre set up,Nothing that could be tuned out in the suspension.. My dream was always to use the 09 Racing front end but could never really afford to do it... A few years later i had the chance and the money so i went for it.. Not knowing that There would be more work in this front end then the whole bloody car... The quality of the kit was amazing but there was some major mods that needed to be done in order to make it look right on my ute ! Attach file: 1.jpg (149.74 KB)![]() 2.jpg (135.04 KB)![]()

The major issue with the 09 kit was the rear flares.. They are designed for a ute that sits on its ass and has stupid off set and stretched tyres.
So first step was to make my own Rear flares !! I have put the pics in a sorta step by step.. Bloody Hell these took me awhile !!! Pretty happy with how they came out... I still have the moulds as well ... heheheh !! Once the rears where done i could start looking at the front..
The first step was to set up the Headlights, Which included a big hole saw !! With those holes done i could fit all the panels up. Straight away there was a major issue with the bonnet because the 4G63 is so tall the rover cover hit the bonnet so a lot of it needed to be cut out and re-glassed !! major pain... One tip i can give when using Polyester resin is to take it back and get vinyl ester resin. The polyester resin pulled back way to much even if i backed off the catalyst. Making a few spots in the bonnet that needed to be fixed, Lesson learnt!! The next issue was the front guards. As you can see the Eye Brow height ( centre of the wheel to the Bottom of the Flare ) was way off. Mine needs to be 290mm to match my engineers report. So i had to cut and re-glass the flares to make them 290mm from the centre of my wheel, matching the rears.
Once all the fibreglass and bog work was done they were flow coated and rubbed back, Primed, guid coat and rubbed back again. Attach file: 26.jpg (178.00 KB)![]() 20.jpg (149.35 KB)![]() 29.jpg (75.49 KB)![]() 28.jpg (94.24 KB)![]()

Next was cutting the oil filler neck off the rocker cover and dropping it 30mm as the bonnet was flexing and hitting it !
With that done it was off to mates place to get painted ! First back where the rear flares... Headlight surrounds and front guards next... Bonnet Last of all.. all of this work was done in me driveway !!!

It's an old thread but can you upload a picture of it with the new bonnet on it? It looks amazing but in the last photo the bonnet is on your table (It would look much better on the car).
