That is what I would normally do, as I'm not a huge fan of blocks. In the end, after the holiday I used the left over cash to get the springs reset and an extra leaf added. I got it set 25mm lower at the rear with an extra leaf and it has a great stance and rides great. I took Mopar for a drive and he loved the way Fang handles. I also have made a few impulse purchases, no thanks to people needing Christmas Cash putting up good stuff for sale. I managed to get a KB10 option steering wheel for it. The horn doesn't work but I'll eventually sort that out. Next thing will be motor and gearbox. Hopefully I will be able to nut out what to do with the motor. I have an A14 now but I kind of want to leave it front dizzy. Maybe I'll do an A12 hybrid, mill the engine numbers off and create an A10 / A14... Hmmm. ![]()

Front dizzy mid dizzy meh. Go a14 and build up a10 hybrid 5 speed on side.
Nice wheel. What's the rear ride height like now. Slightly higher than before? It's starting to be a nicely modded cruiser

It sits approx 5mm higher in the rear giving it a slight rake. It looks good. I took a pic on Saturday but it turned out crap. Too much sun. I'll load it to photobucket shortly. Suffice to say, for me, it sits perfect. And the 5 speed I bought will be rebuilt shortly and installed. Fingers crossed.

I went to fire it up last week but for some reason the old starter motor didn't want to kick into action. So I decided to steering wheel fidget. On the 2 thou utes I bought there were 2 sports steering wheels so I toyed with the idea of selling the KB10 wheel as I am mega short on cash as I have an abundence of wheels and I wasn't particuraly happy with the look of the KB10 wheel. So lets go through the collection.
Origional wheel. Was replaced with another, just without the cover. ![]() An old full size roadster style wheel. Needs restoration. ![]() A smaller Boss wheel, a bit grotty but ok. ![]() The KB10 wheel. Wood needs redoing and horn not working but otherwise really good. ![]() And after I made the executive decision to modify the cover to put on it. ![]() Needless to say I'm pretty happy with the result. I'm not sure how old the cover is, but if I can track down some red leather thronging for it I'll be very happy. It's just red cord for now. So tonight the wheel was bolted on tight again and I changed out the starter motor and I'm ready to tackle Knox Carpark Meet tomorrow night. Anyone else representing the Datsuns? Nobody ever seems to.

get that #OOPS# off the steering wheel! a cover would be fine for that old wheel but you gotta show off your little purchase.
theres often a few datsuns there, im taking mine and i think joel and stu are too never any 1200's i think you should say...

black cover would look good as but still looks better than that horrible bogon 3rd pic, roadster style wheel is not bad suits the theme. My tip for the gear lever is through my years of trolling wrecking yards is get a renault R12 gearlever cover that is held by a lovely stainless 4 screw bracket support it will look the part and ive done it to all my datsuns over the years as its the only good looking thing from those models.
added: A ring cover made of a piece of billet or plastic around the 6 bolt threads in black would give that roadster wheel another dimension not to mention a new black cover like the red one. You can view topic.
