The Micra motor is not a dead project by any means. In fact I want to set it up in the spare parts car. I had a crack at getting it off the back lawn to pull the diff out flexed the back panel and chunks of bog fell out everywhere. that car is not destined for greatness so a trial fit of the CR14 DE will happen this year for sure. I have a 60A 4 speed for it and a flywheel coming too. But when it gets properly underway I'll cover all that in another thread.

Fang however, is destined for greatness. So in the end I will have 2 Datsun 1000's, both 1.4L and megasquirt powered. And it will be good to have a comparison between them as to value for money with the output between them.

A slightly revised update, while not all love the cover, it's staying on for now.

However...

After buying a few under bonnet things for the creation of my own unique hot rod I couldn't quite find the right thing. Last year I tried to aquire Cousin Leighs old quad throttle injection set up but I was unsuccessful and I was pining a little for it. But I have just secured it and it and after I put down the final payment it will be brought back home to roost under the bonnet of Fang.

A reminder of the injection setup to refresh the old memory.




It will look slightly different in my bay, being grey and all, and I might mount the coils differently but now it looks like I'll need to start thinking about a brake conversion...

I didn't buy the A15 as I couldn't afford it but i do have an A14 with a mild cam and a GX head to put on it. I wonder what it will go like... Now to rebuild the 5 speed and sort out one of the H145 3.9:1's into an alloy center. Maybe I'll do that another time. I don't think I'll notice the difference saving 5kg when I weigh over 100...

black cover would look good as but still looks better than that horrible bogon 3rd pic, roadster style wheel is not bad suits the theme. My tip for the gear lever is through my years of trolling wrecking yards is get a renault R12 gearlever cover that is held by a lovely stainless 4 screw bracket support it will look the part and ive done it to all my datsuns over the years as its the only good looking thing from those models.

added: A ring cover made of a piece of billet or plastic around the 6 bolt threads in black would give that roadster wheel another dimension not to mention a new black cover like the red one.

get that #OOPS# off the steering wheel! a cover would be fine for that old wheel but you gotta show off your little purchase.
