#1 Whats needed to fit a camshaft

Hi just wondering about a camshaft can they be fitted incar what else is needed i know double springs would be on the list.

Im running twin dellortos, h75 head std ports and extractors.

You can fit it in the car using a device like Sikyne had suggested. This is problematic though as it does not allow you to change the tappets (which you ought to do after you have had them radiused/ground when using a new camshaft). For such a small item it is still best to remove and replace it with the engine disassembled and out of the vehicle.

The H75 head can be surface milled/machined to increase HP as they are quite big in their combustion chamber volume machining this down will bump the compression ratio and bring more power (not copious amounts but definitely a change). Surface milling costs me about $30-$45.00 depending on where I go, it is a cheap modification.

Double springs are good but not neccessary, stronger single springs are just as good too.

But cam, oval port head, twin carbs and you're well on your way. I would insist on electronic ignition as well.

Hey datgx not yet i should get the carbs back monday so fitted tuesday running thursday?????
Did you figure when you could do it for me?

Clyons that sounds like a good idea do you have to do the same to the block???
So mabye a $500 exercise with cam and springs??
I have pertronix that ok?

Double springs will lose some power, and are no use under approx. 7000 rpm. Only fit them if your cam profile is for this high rpm.

The block rrquires no mods to change a cam.
