ITs not a ute you are building?
You best do a hybrid a12 with a14 crank
a12 rods bushed with a15 pistons with 77mm
bore you have 1434cc. Use Gemini flatop
slugs just check ACL catalogue. You will have
higher compression and less valve shrouding
with better effiency than a stock a15.
The lower rod stroke ratio will create better
torque/low end response much like Honda
does all its engines.

In the ACT and NSW, you can go to a Max of 15% of it's original engine size. It's known as a 'owner certified' modification and doesn't require a engineer. I figured that's why people prefer a A14. Less hassles. I know that was the case with me. I'm just putting an A15 head on it!

Just show up to rego and get it inspected
They don't just check the things you want them to
And engineer checks everything (in theory)
Just been thru all this with the Cadillac
And he was $450

That sounds good D but my a15 is almost ready to put together

Its got

GA16 pistons
Standard rods
40 thou over bore
Ported and decked h89 with 24 cc chambers
Billet rocker spacers
Twin 40mm carbs
Crane ignition
8lb lightened flywheel
Hitech extractors
298/288 cam

And a few other bits :D

How will I go with the twin carbys for rego ?

Haha chris ,your right ,doubt they would know what the numbers are supposed to look like

So neil did you get your caddy engineered?

Can I just take it to the pits and ask just for the engine number to be changed ? Or will they inspect the whole car ?

Engine # is just a form... unless they notice you made it too much bigger

Yes Caddy is engineerd

When I got the yellow sticker on my wagon I converted it to discs
I also did the engine # change to A15
No engineering required
