Are you confused too?
Either way, the mirrors are only a small distance away considering how long the Datsun 1200 is so if you're worried get the broad ones like in the picture you uploaded. I reckon go straight for the JDM look, a little mainstream but there are sorts of different styling things you can do. Stu's (Adelaide lad) well on his way with his ute, well worth a look. ![]() ![]() ![]()

But how much detail do you want to see? (If you're going to use that argument).
You want to see a car coming, not the squashed bug sitting on it's grill. Go for fender mirrors UNV, take nothing of this poor functionality nonsense.

Haha surrre you can see more. If you put a mirror next to you, and put a mirror 3 metres away, tell me which mirror you can see more detail in? The point of mirrors is to see around and behind you, not to look at your car. If anything they have more of a blind spot because they sit further away from you which narrows the field of vision. I agree with the point made about having to turn your head around just a tiny bit further than when in another vehicle. But that's why god gave us necks
![]() How about no mirrors, and install some cameras haha

Exactly. you can drive and look behind you without having to turn your head, which is safer keeping your eyes on the road.
For me in a small cabin, door mirrors always seem to close and i need to turn my head to much. Also fender mirrors i can see so much more. I think only spring loaded ones are legal, genuine nissan ones are spring loaded. But confirm that... i forget.

Fender mirrors look cool, but as far as funtionality goes, theyre pretty useless. What wheels are on that one? Functionality, useless? Overstatement. Fit a set on, I haven't ever had any better and I like seeing more of the car in the mirrors (as they are set further back from where you are sitting). Combined with the glass-house cabin of the 1000 I can see everything, it really makes it a much more relaxed drive knowing you have a lot more within the scope of your field of vision.

Fender mirrors look cool, but as far as funtionality goes, theyre pretty useless. Those of us that actually own a vehicle with fender mirrors disagree. How can they be useless? They allow you to see behind while looking ahead -- just like door-mounted mirrors. And they have less of a blind spot. They are superior. You can view topic.
