yeh hilux's crossed my mind, but they are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. Ive seen plenty of them #OOPS# themselves too. And if i find one in my budget it will have heaps of k's.

Hilux 3L TD Wardy. You can't go wrong. Apart from the odd faulty injector from #OOPS# fuel they last forever and a day.

lol i have looked at the tritons and i dont really like them, ive never been a mitsubishi fan.
We have 3 4x4 rangers at work and they have been awesome machines, one has nearly 250000k's on it and all we have done is tyres and services.. thats why i was leaning that way.

theres a reason why they are in your price range... they dont get that good a wrap and thus affecting resale.

thought of a newish triton too? they get a good wrap, not as good as the chalengers.

Im about to sell my current 02 courier, save some dosh up and buy a new tow car to get me to the events.
Budget is maxed at $20k and id rather a modernish turbo diesel as they kill a petrol engine in every way when towing.

My Car and trailer will tip the scales at a little under 1500kg (trailer 400kg and my car around the 1000kg mark) Doesnt have to be 4x4

Main thing is that it MUST be reliable as i plan on doing many a mile towing my car around the country.
If anyone has any experience, wether you have one or a mate of a mate has one, share your experiance.

Ive recently put a new gearbox in my courier due to towing and these are the sort of thing i wanna avoid.

Currently looking at the 4x2 Ford rangers around the 2007 models, can be had for under $15k.. good on juice, lightweight, practical (motocross bike/dogs etc) towing capacity of 2500kg braked.. and in my price range.
