Im interested on some advice with this setup - hilux 4 pot (s12+8 caliper) and U12 pintara discs. (R31 Rear)

I have done this in my CA Coupe and under hard braking it locks the front right and under firm braking it pulls left.

Im using a 180B master and booster, I removed the 180B poportining valve assy that I had when I had stanza drum brakes rear and stanza disc front. I replaced the poportioning valve for one off of a Ford Laser and I belive this to be causing the problem.

I ran the s12 calipers with the stanza drum rear end and the 180B poportioning valve and the car pulled up straight, but you locked the rears under hard braking.

I curious to know how you guys have the master configured? I spoke to Maddat and they said they dont use a poportioning valve. Just straight from the master into a y splitter and then to the brakes.

Any thoughts?

And sorry for getting off track in your thread

hilux 4 pot (s12+8 caliper) and U12 pintara discs, been running em for ten years under 13 wheels, and doubt i was first

bobs would be on vented discs? a solid would be too thin for the caliper to work in its proper range

the U12 pintara disc is vented if you want a good disc to use, some machining required to fit

great brakes, only downside could be the cast iron caliper is heavier than an alloy alternate

i was less than satisfied when i had the same sorta brakes on my car many years ago. you know, back when i used to have a 1200 that was on the road
mine was the landcruiser calipers some kinda camry vented discs and standard r31 rear brakes

possibly because they werent set up 100% perfectly
possibly because im picky with brakes
possibly because the next brakes they got compared to were full size r32 items(which were awesome)
but i just didnt like them

R-fast runs cruiser calipers and silvia(i think) discs on his race car and they are apparently pretty good, and also fit under 13s...once again beaten to the big brakes

But i think landcrusier calipers and what ever disc and r31 rear brakes are the text book big bolt-on* brakes to use under 13 inch mags

*note, brakes arent actually bolt on

im sure the brakes will pull it up, i'd be more worried about how many times in a row they will last being only a solid disc

if the calipers are to suit a solid disc then they are actually hilux calipers not landcruiser ones. Cruiser ones suit a 20 something mm thick vented disc which might be a better way to go eventually if you end up getting brake fade with the solid discs as im pretty sure they suit the same diameter rotor of the hilux ones but are a slightly different offset

but i think simon(sikyne) kinda beat you to fitting real brakes under 13s with these
