Finally got some negative camber but was hoping for more. Looks like 1 degree but haven't actually taken it out of the shed yet as I need to fix some leaks on the carby and haven't had time.

Been a while, had a third girl 3 weeks ago. Been driving Oot daily and starting to get some skill with it on the dirt.
Not sure if I've mentioned before but a friend has donated a 13b powered rx7 s2 for my disposal. I got it running nice so engine and box are out of it now. As is exhaust and soon wiring and fuel system. Ordered a new clutch slave and master as old ones were rusted shut. Just need the inspiration and money for a custom tail shaft then I can start pulling Oot apart and welding up some bits. A good friend has offered to bend me up a trans tunnel and can get hold of cheap metal for mounts so seems like its gonna happen. For now I'll just work out as much of the wiring as I can and map out radiator and engine mounts.

Am hoping to just weld the stock ute one for now. Kinda a zero dollar budget for this project so nothing spent unless its defiantly needed or I've broken it.

Actually bit worried about the angle the motor might end up on.
The rotors centre rotation point is much higher than I anticipated and even with the gear box as high as I can get it and the sump literally on the steering rack its still on a fair angle. Only solution I can see would be to raise the rear of the car. I know the uni joints would wear quicker but what other issues will this cause? Oil flow should be OK but I'm no rotor expert.

I know member ANGE had a 12a in his ute which im pretty sure he did all his self. He's a nice bloke should have no drama asking a query or two!!
Me personally got no idea about rotars, would love to learn though ey...

the most difficult thing about a rotor conversion is getting a useable driveline angle.
even with a huge trans tunnel i ended up recessing the standard 1200 engine crossmember to get the motor to sit as low as possible. i didnt go as far as modifying the steering drag link though. i ended up with a slant of around 4deg from memory. remember you need to angle your diff pinion up (to about 1 degree below the engine/gearbox angle to allow for spring wind up under load) the angle you run isnt that important as long as its less than say 5 deg, whats more important is that your uni-joint angles are parallel both vertically and horizontally. take it from me, do it properly the first time. the 'it should be ok' theory, and 'i'll see how it goes' will end up being very frustrating and expensive. i learnt the hard way. set it up right and you'll really enjoy it. rotary 1200's are loads of fun. im looking forward to seeing the progress

Thanks very much. Sounds like I'm on the right path.
Helps to hear it from someone else so I'm not second guessing all the time. If I reshaped the sump I wonder how much I can take off...? From what I understand the mid and rear lower section of the housings would have no moving parts so as long as the oil still drains towards the front it wouldn't hurt to modify it and maybe make the capacity bigger too.
