made no progress with oil filter sandwhich plate yet. did start installing my cobra classics over the weekend though.
going to mount a bit of 410 x 365 3mm plate to the original rails, using spacers to clear the adjuster arm, and then bolt the seats to the plate. all bolt holes etc should clear and should be nice and strong. will post up some pics soon. josh

Cobra classics are a great seat, not the most robust but I love the look. I used 16 gauge galv sheet and it worked well.
The 3mm plate was too heavy for my liking, I had that installed previously.

I'm more thinking of the strength factor in accidents etc as well, I thought aluminium plate would help keep everything nice and light but probably a lot more prone to tearing. If 3mm is too heavy ill consider something smaller.
Thanks

Got the plates started today. 410 x 365 3mm sheet. drill the holes out at the corners of 370 x 280. Mounts up ok, tunnel side rails I have sit lower than the door side, so only one side had to be spaced up. need some shorter bolts tomorrow and hopefully get it all mounted thurday

drivers seat is in and running, just need to powdercoat the brackets to make them nice and neat. car is at the mechanics at the moment getting a new set of webers tuned for her. once its back on the road I have a few things I'd like to complete on her, front lip, fender mirrors etc all in good time, heres the carbs:
![]() also started fabbing up some decent radiator brackets, instead of my poor excuse old ones. modified toyota camry items: ![]() new front end has been put on to JDM indicators (wired to indicator circuit as im sure cops will have a field day if I have amber parkers) and old school headlights to keep the look: ![]() and finally some jdm guard indicators: ![]()

hey guys so finally got my car back after being tuned, turns out when I got the head reconditioned, cylinder 4 valves were burtn, so head got a service and those valves replaced. after carbs fitted and tuned, the other three cylinders are low on compression compared to 4, valves seats are starting to wear, so long story short the head needs to come off again to do the rest. long story short if renewing one set of valves do the lot, saves a bit of headache.
It still running ten times better than what it was though, so good in fact that it blew the diff. The cross pin that holds the spider?? gears came loose, falling into the pinion gear, so hopefully this afternoon it will be welded up and driving tomorrow. Locker until I get my BW68 freshened up and installed. also installed a maddat steering box brace (they didnt have a listing for one, but I called them up and they were to happy to make one up, so I'd dare say they will have a lsting for one now) and it tightgens the steering up a lot. no movement from the extra tension runnning wider wheels. defiantly worth the money spent. anyway thats all josh
