Yeah if your killing bw68 diffs i wouldnt bother goin with a H165 maybe stop dropping the clutch at the lights chics dont really dig that, HA HA. Maybe its time to fork out some bucks and go with a Hilux diff or R31 shortened diff but then your going to need to either upgrade or do some serious work to the L16, Maybe go L18 worked. All that said The 120y diff (BW68) i sold old-tin was behind a CA18det 120y and the owner loved it he just wanted to go a bigger diff cause he could.

They don't? How come I'm now married?? Haha nah I do a little gymkhana type stuff as you can see from my pics. It's just SO expensive to shorten a diff! And anyone who has one want ALL their money back. There are so many other things that I could do for the price of that one thing :/

Id say it would be worth laying out the dollars for a strong reliable diff, its something you never have to worry about again remember! Plus disc brakes! If you haven't done them already.

But yeah its definitely one hell of hurt on the ol' pocket. After shortening, brake upgrade/recondition and a custom tailshaft the bill is not going to be pretty.

Or you could fit a strong stock H190 unit that needs no shortening and already has strong brakes ...

must be the H150 120Y diff.
I raced my old L18 1200 at supersprints and hillclimbs, all standing start events on dry tarmac with grippy tyres, with 146rwbhp and a BW68. Broke an axle due to axle tramp before sorting the springs to suit the extra power, but never blew the diff.
I did years of motokhanas, hillclimbs, dirt autocrosses and other stuff before that with a hot L18 with 116rwbhp - high CR, long rods, ported SSS head, big 76 cam, twin 45s, custom pipes...
So an L16 with a weber and extracters shouldn't be blowing 2 BW68s in 12 months from a little bit of wet skidpan work! But it would blow H150s pretty easily.

Going heavier than you need with diffs (like a H190 or Hilux diff behind an L16!) is just adding weight and making you slower. If you have to change an axle once every few years of competition, I wouldn't say it warrants upgrading, just annual inspections.
