get it on a circuit that'll wear the pads!
in saying that, 1200's with big brakes are really good in the pad wear department.
i used to get 4-5 track days out of my pads with the small s13 single piston caliper setup,
lots of heavier cars run out of pads after a day or 2 on the track

vented is the key, solids get too hot and the pads disappear

(my red coupe, which went into my blue ute, then into my CA coupe - same pads all this time)

isn't the smaller piston the leading piston here?

took 3 seasons to wear pads 75% on the rallycar (most rally cars get one or two rallies if lucky), wear wasn't too abnormal

on the road/project car - there is no noticeable significant/abnormal wear after 7 years

pad wear is near non-existant with this setup

note also - vented discs with s12+8 caliper

Ok sorry to bump but I want to keep all info in one spot fr now and will copy to build page at a later date,

Replace seal, but these calipers have a small and large piston, the smaller piston is a leading piston and should be at he to and the dsk rotate past it first. That is why these conversions usually go on the front of the struts requiring running the struts on opposite sides of car.

This also then requires longer brake lines with banjo style fittings to ensure they have enough length at full lock and not foul on the sway bar.

This then means the hoses should be held to the strut so the don't catch or bind from traveling the full turning circle arc.

If fitting them Witth the strut In the normal rear caliper location, it means that the leading piston ( smaller piston) will now be the trailing piston.

Spoke to my brake guy today and he says this can lead to abnormal pad wear ( the pad wearing on the larger pistons edge quicker) .

It's not ideal but he says it's common on the toyotas even that have the callers in the correct orientation. The usually either swap the pads drivers to passenger side or in the same caliper inside pad to outside pad.

So others have run these in the rear and front mounted location, so I will try in the rear mounted location first and if there are major issues will get longer brake lines . Apparently vn commodore ones may work and have banjo fittings too.

Hi bob I ended up with these from shoota. Was trail installing them last night And realised that the bottom most bolt on the calliper fouled on steering arm just. did that happen with you lol. it's no drama.

Also one of the dust boot seals was torn. Would that make a difference or just cause rust etc long term.

If they work like the twin pots I got off you I will be mighty pleased.

I know was long time ago thought you might.remember
