WMC (Willamette Motorsports Club) and the club I belong to, NWAA (North West Autosports Association) put on the first annual Maryhill Loops Road hillclimb run under the NHA (National Hillclimb Association) sanction. The hill is located near Goldendale Washington on the north side of the Columbia river gorge. Maryhill loops road was the first paved road in the pacific northwest of the US. The road was build between 1911 and 1913. The portion of the road we used for the hillclimb is ~1.9 miles long.

Here is a video of my 3rd and final run on Sunday and the best run I made at this event.

Maryhill Loops Sunday run 3

I really need to get the 1608 built. 51HP is not the tool to bring to a hillclimb...

Looks like F-U-N !!! Throttle activated NOS hit might be a quick and easy way to help scoot the 1200 up that short course while the big block is being built! (of course, you could always wind up searching the Gorge hillsides for your cylinder head if you get too enthusiastic with the NOS...)

Looks great!

Few "interesting" skid marks heading off the side of the road at times

Looks like great fun, and also like you know the road pretty well. The wha-bwaaaaa on the upshifts is a very familiar sound for those of us with underpowered wonders.
