yeh well im thinking for now, get a ca n/a, spend a little bit getting extractors, maybe itb's, aftermarket ecu and from there decide on whether or not to go for a better motor/wait for it to blow up haha, ca18de will be easiest
turbo is tempting but i hate the lag etc so i'd look at running an anti lag setup, and it'd be a bit of work haha

Oh its already engineered for a CA??!!
In that case yes go CA18DE with quads and a very good tip from an ingenious racer is you can go solid lifters by using Toyota 1zzfe engine factory solid lifters which supposedly are a straight swap! cheaper than Nismo & others by 400 bucks or more in some cases. You should definitely go bigger bores and send your head to Steve Newing who was able to get 240+hp out of them. H165 has ring gear diameter of 165mm or 6.5 inches The Quickchange is 7 inches and in the wiki the H165 open diff is 52kg. My Alfa lsd with sump and cooling fins was about 56kg & I think 7.25 inch ring gear with adjustable torque biasing but a quickchange has the beauty of the 2 ratios for track and street and nothing comes close to that beauty.

hey guys been using winters qc's in compact speedcars and midgets for years , you will have a few mounting issues to overcome if you are keeping the leafsprings , they are ment for 4 link raccecars or super sedans that have all sorts of torque arms and link arms but im sure it can be sorted out, only other issue is that it is a "race" diff with gear geometry to suit ,that means you wont be able to hear yourself think inside the cab when moving so remember the ear plugs!

240hp i could definitely live with! any rough guess on total cost for a build of that power? and yeh multiple ratios plus my god are they beautiful
well it's just steel tubed so in theory i should be able to just cut off and slightly modify the mounts off my old diff onto the winters but yeh, eventual plan is a 4 link. and yeh i've been in a baby grand for a short drive which use the exact same diff as mine, awesome mechanical whine, especially from the straight cuts, im looking forward to it! haha baby grands oddly enough have a gross 3 link design

looks easy for leafs as done on quite a few rods
this is the frankland So its setup for a ca? 240hp would mean serious port, cams, valves, pistons, oiling, pulleys, belt, crankwork, rods and around 8grand I would guess or the same as a Hartley 2H stroker kit :) http://www.h1v8.com/h2specs.html http://www.h1v8.com/H2.html http://www.h1v8.com/h1h2pricing.html or save a bundle and buy this one and add 48mm throttle bodies or have these enlarged for more hp http://my105.com/ListingDetails/tabid ... sr20/id/5233/Default.aspx Attach file: quickieleaf.jpg (63.70 KB)![]()

yeh currently running a dirty ca20e. so im assuming i can get a ca18de in and running for about $1500, and then do work as i go from there, keeping in mind im still only 20 and still at uni haha.
if i was gonna run busa i'd be tempted to just run the motor straight on it's own with standard 6spd sequential dog cut box, when it breaks get a billet gearset from a busa drag bike, run one of those forward/reverse boxes behind it. dunno about engineering but yeh haha currently looking at maybe getting a new brakes setup for it, wilwood or something, not sure, havent really looked yet

h2 has less weight, simpler and with boost makes more
than the v8 :) forgot you have the ca20, might as well then run a ca18de stock with good exhaust, bigger throttle body chipped and custom camshafts.

^pretty much exact plans, maybe just one of those ecu's with just one fuel map (spitfire?), no sensors or anything so it's nice and simple and clean, efi does my head in sometimes haha You can view topic.
