Why the single-cam engine?

* KA24E 140 hp
* KA24DE 156 hp

More HP and looks better. Some say the DE makes more torque, but Nissan says the E makes less torque

I'm using sr20de. But I would like a CG13. With the right mods & turbo 300 HP+ shouldn't be a problem & they're very light.

There was a sports sedan builder here in Aus that made more then that from one. It was in an mr2. Was very very fast. But extremely highly strung. Very high boost & all custom internals.

wow. tame the beast, put two Variable turbo on it, which will extend the torque band so it won't be high strung. A lot of work fabricating an equal length manifold with two flanges but should pay off

Im not really looking into it that much atm Its years away for me. Will probably have to throw $20.000 at it just to start with. Bit of a pipe dream really. I'll stick with the sr for now.

i was toying with the idea for a toyota gt4 3sgte conversion on my datto. but finding a rwd gearbox proved to be very dificult and expensive. plus the dizzy is on the back of the motor so mounting woulda moved the weight foward from the firewall. So im running a A15 much easier and looks more suited in the engine bay than a newer motor.

Been there done that the Aussie cut down Misfire four Red motor Toyota Corona had a bellhousing that fitted 3SGTE engines allowing normal Toyota Celica supra type box to fit add crank trigger and make a manifold for the intake and either crank trigger EDIS or a modified Exhaust cam retaining bolt holding a slotted distributor drive to run it from the front of the engine. with a 2860RS turbo it made 550 RWHP in a KE70

The turbo models I have had apart had a crank girdle the NA one did not plus the block is also a thick wall casting I have sonic tested that to make sure it is different with a different part number oil supply is uprated and some feed galleries are bigger probably because of the piston cooling oil squirter's taking flow and pressure away from the crank bearings
