we also took out the bed since it clearly needs replacement, and we were caught with another surprise. several of the main support was also invaded by rust as well as the gas tank. This build is turning out to be a big headache.

we started stripping the vehicle, first the front panels, the doors an last the interior.we removed both seats and the carpet to see the flooring. What i saw was rust! it didn't look good, the pavement under was visible. the whole thing needs to be replaced, which means manually fabricating the floor.

i see, i dont think it will be easy for me to acquire a rectangular left hand dash if i want an older look in and out.
for the mean time ill stick with the 78. Is it appropriate for me to put a sunny script emblem on the rear fender in that case, or just leave it blank? im quite confused with the number of pictures that i have seen here.

1971-1978 used a rectangular dash, same as Standard model sedans.

1978-1989 used round dash, which looks the same as the Coupe dashes, but is not electrically identical.

Starting in April 1978 was the changeover for Japan-market B120s.

My truck was stalled for sometime waiting for its turn in the shop. The bed was temporarily being used as storage for other items. It was parked right beside my cousin's 1977 isuzu gemini 2 door coupe which was also under the process of full restoration. This was the car that started my interest towards old schoolers. if your interested, follow their car and travel blog using this vehicle http://www.facebook.com/thegeminidiaries. it was currently featured in the C! magazine nov 2011 issue. (my cousin who owns the gemini was a car enthusiast/professional racer)
After my ute is finished i am planning to join them in one of their trips, hopefully my schedule will permit. its going to be a sunny and gem tandem.
the last photo was taken in Bohol one of the island destination in our country. i took this shot when i jumped in one of their trips.

i want to achieve the 1978 look which has the round lights. Such grill is not available in the Philippine market

The 1978 grille was fitted 1978-1989. It is nearly identical to Datsun 1200 Coupe grille, though the truck version was all silver and the coupe version had part painted black.

The round headlights and buckets (headlamp mounting pats) come straight from B110, B210 and early B310.

Informatikon on converting: Grille
