Re: A15 with Stanza 5 Speed, Tailshaft too short??? Please HELP!

Bw is reportedly stronger than h165. Neither have LSD easily available, topgear has some h165 lsds left. That's why we were talking about phantom grip lockers- poor mans LSD over welding lol.
I didn't think 60 and 63 bell housings were interchangeable. If it were that easy I'm sure other 1200 members would have done it by now. Just see if it says 60 or #63 # 3 on the bell housing. 63 3 is the dogleg L series box. As for tailshaft if you changing diffs, choose which one and get the right tail shaft for it, and just get a spacer for yours for now. No point chopping a bw shaft to fit a h150 flange. Are you using auto tail shafts? If you ate then it may be a L series box. If manual input shafts its an a series. Box

63-series 5-speed gearbox uses the large output yoke same as automatic.
B210s fitted with this 5-speed use the B210 automatic driveshaft.

how would i know if its a large input yoke and a large output shaft? Easy - if it says 63 anywhere on the transmision, it is large output. If it say 60, it's small output.

It's more difficult dd as he said the old owner states they put a 60 series bell housing on a l serues dog leg 5 speed- unlikely as we know but he needs to know yoke size to work out what box he has

You cannot fit a 60 front case on a 63 box. The box is physically bigger.
You can cut-n-shut it -- maybe that what he did. In that case it will still say 63, cause the numbers are not on the bell part of the front case. You can view topic.
