That might be because the Stanza diff is bigger and 40mm longer.
If you are using the Stanza tailshaft, try the B210 automatic tailshaft instead.

getting the tailshaft lengthened and balanced is pretty cheap and at least its done properly... tailshaft is the last thing u want to come lose and come off whilst driving

stanza 5 speed on the back of an a15? how? is it a 63a and you swapped the bell housing bits?
also what tailshaft did you use? and what diff do you have?
i have a h150 and an auto 120y tail shaft should have fit but need slight shortening to fit, i have a gap to, not as bad as yours.

Hi guys,
i have an a15 with a stanza 5 speed bolted up to the back of it, whacked it in today went to bolt up the tailshaft and its 40mm too short.... had a thought of makeing a spacer at the back where the tailshaft connects to the diff using longer bolts made of a harder steel so they dont brake but was wondering if anyone else knows what i can do? tailshaft out of a stanza or any other datsun? really could use some advice as i dont want to go down the road of getting someone to make a tailshaft up for me,
Dion :)
