I am in search of a 80-84 200sx rear axle complete to swap into my endurance road race car. I need something that I can get a larger range of final ratios. I also would like to be able to get it close to home in Kansas City but will drive to pick it up or I guess have it shipped. Anyone have any ideas?

S110 (1980-1983 200SX) came in two different types of axles:
* H165 through 1981
* H190 1982-up

Datsun 1200's H145 came in these ratios:
3.90
4.11
4.375
4.625
You can also fit the H150 pumpkin:
3.545
3.70
3.889
4.11

You might contact Peter Zekert in St. Louis for gearsets or for his recommendations.

Found a 87 d-21 truck w/5 speed. I was wondering if the rear axle is worth the swap into my track car. does anyone have any info on the diffs that were used in these trucks/

hi mike, the D21 used H190 or H233 rear differential, both which are plenty strong, and a heavy-duty axle housing. This would be good for a V8 swap.

The D21 axle assembly is about 10 inches wider than the B110 or B210 assembly. But is can be narrowed like most other axle assemblies.

An H190 diff (center section or "pumpkin") from a D21 will bolt into the Datsun 320 pickup housing, which is narrower than the B110/B210 housings. You only need to swap the side gears as the 320 uses less heavy-duty axles.

To determine which one is in the D21, refer to the ID Plate in the engine compartment, or on newer trucks, the ID sticker on the A-pillar.

HD - H190
HE - H190
HF - H190A
HG - H233

233 mm ring gear is 9.2 inches. Suitable for a big-block V8, or for a heavy load-pulling truck.

My delima is that I need to swap in a rear that I can readly find ring gear/pinion sets and axles. This is an endurance road race car that I run in Chumpcar and I need to keep the cost down and parts need to be easy to obtain. Fabrication is not an issue but narrowing a rear could be if the axles are difficult to machine/harden. A total width difference within 5"(?) could be dealt with by wheel choice/front spacers. The biggest concern is the availability. Doesn't even need to be a datsun/nissan piece.

Do you have any suggestions?????
