Dave I have an extra dry sump pan that I contemplated doing that with...........how much does that increase the oil capacity?

The oil capacity depends on how big a a sump you weld to the alloy pan.

The Datsun Cherry 1971-1975 has an alloy pan. Cut off the superdeep sump and weld on your choice of sump-box to make a wider, shallower sump.

You've never seen a wombat angry until you've gone and started chopping up his alloy, they use that stuff in the burrows you know

I have one of these alloy oil pan, if i decide to modify the bottom... what is the real level of oil ?

The real level of oil won't change. The dipstick measures the correct level relatively to the crankshaft, so it is independent oil oil sump shape.
