Because you have a boosted engine, the results are going to be different. Maybe wire the wastegate open to test the effect of static compression alone ...

LSD is for an early supra into a hilux third member.
my dyno results ended up very good, comment was made after first run. From this experience increase in torque from increased static compression is far greater then the numbers you quote above.

What is the LSD designed for and which differential do you have?
Quote: I am a little dissappointed that the increase compression ratio didn't have a great effect on the overall numbers. * 1.0 increase in compression ratio is good for 2 to 3% hp increase * Boost builds up faster than compression, so on a turbo motor it will overall lower the numbers slightly. However it will improve off-boost response

installed the kaaz today.
used a conversion bearing on the crown wheel side which gives full engagement of the bearing locking nuts. still pushes the carried a far way over to the pinion side only way to fix that is to run a crown wheel spacer. there is 1mm clearance to the bearing cap so I am hoping that is enough..... should find out pretty quick if it's not. I doubt the carrier will a. move that.much and b. if it does it would push away from the pinion which would open up the clearance. ![]() ![]()

Car was dyno'd this afternoon. Numbers are good, about what I expected given the mods and far better then the part tune the other day. Torque and usable rev range is also very nice.
I put an old set of A050's on the rear for the runs, which was a bad move, those things chew power. First to last run was nearly 40hp difference due to the sticky tyres, they probably robbed me about 10kw on top of the final figure. I guess that only makes it stronger then the numbers suggest. Happy with the results. Looks like I have a dead alternator too. She comes home tomorrow but not before I send the KAAZ LSD off to get ramp angles changed. Really looking forward to seeing how the changes effect the car on the track.

Car is in at the Dyno this week. Had some initial drama's that hopefully are now sorted.
He was doing a couple of runs and noticed the oil warning light come on so stopped and had a look. The car had evacuated all its engine oil over the dyno (nearly 5ltrs). He seemed to think it was coming from the turbo. He also mentioned that when i was playing with the CAM timing that one of the bolts was missing and the others were loose. WTF. By this stage all I could see was $$$ for repair and wondered WTF had gone wrong. So I rushed down there to see what had happened and found that the oil return line from the cooler had come loose and this was the cause of the leak. The fan has migrated the oil all over the engine bay so hard to see where it was coming from. I checked the log file and noticed that the oil pressure looked ok during the runs and he said he noticed the warning light at idle. Lucky for me I had the warning table set quite high to stop before there was any damage. As for the cam gear, I don't know what happened there. The cam timing cover was cut away so the bolt has at least vacated the area and isn't rattling around the timing belt. I noticed the CAS had rotated as well and can't remember if that was after I set the timing so am getting him to re-set the timing. So the tune is not yet completed. Car is currently making about the same peak power but stays there longer in the top end (No power taper). It's a bit hard to compare with last dyno tune (Different Dynos brands, differnt tyre sizes and different diff ratio). At the moment she holds full boost to redline too, so i think the wastegate pipe changes are working to reduce manifold backpressure. Power still comes on around 4k and I honestly I don't think he as leaned on it too much yet and we should see more when i gets back on the dyno shortly. At this stage I am a little dissappointed that the increase compression ratio didn't have a great effect on the overall numbers. I think the proof will be on the track. I will keep you posted when I know more.
