Picked the old girl up yesterday.
Bitter sweet day.
Happy with the work done by Sydney Shocks.
Out for a tune and all was going well until.......... Last run to confirm results, turbo packed it in.
My intro into the world of restricted engines :) It was a second hand unit when I got it so not too worried.
Looking at replacing with something slightly different, so might do some other work around the manifold as well.

At least it let go on the dyno mate you would have been upset if it was on the maiden lap around the track.

Yeah agreed.
Im sure it wont be the last teething issue either.
New turbo is on order, so another week she should be ready for a finalised tune.
Below is a video of one of the Dyno tune runs (Not much boost at this point).

yes mate, not a fault of the Dyno operator.
The restrictor really strains the turbo.
It wasn't a catastrophic failure, the axial play has just got to a point where the compressor wheel now touches the housing which in turn acts like a brake so it doesn't build boost. I bought the turbo about 7 years ago second hand and it has had a tough life. Not worried, its just one of those things.
I have a new custom turbo on order (Boostworx version). From the Dyno printout I can see where the turbo can improve power so have targeted the new one to address the old ones shortfall.
Hoping for better figures with the new setup.

New Turbo turned up today.
Won't go into the specs but it should fix some of the limitations of the previous.
It will be interesting to do a back to back run with the previous.
The cars Log book turned up on Friday which is good.
Turbo goes back in this weekend and going to work on some tyre clearance issues.
Hoping for a practice session next week at eastern creek.
