ive ran into a problem.
im trying to fit 15x7" +10 offset wheels onto the front of my 1200 ute, but ive come to an issue with the wheel hitting on the inner guard/footwell section.
i know some other people have ran into this i remeber seeing something a long time ago but cant find it..

if anyone has any info or pictures even on how they fixed this issue would help a heap.
thanks

It either involves choping the footwell and rewarding it further in or the rough way is love taps with a big hammer

yeah chopping the footwell or spacers, but if you go spacers your insurance company wont cover you when car gets inspected if an accident happens.

Spacers would make it worse. If the wheels had more than +10 offset they would fit OK.

adjustable caster arms and give about 12deg + caster should pull it forward enough plus it will make the steering return to centre nice n quick..

Hi mate
Is it fouling all the time or just when the wheels are turned?
Have you tried some slip on spacers yet? This will move the wheels further away from the inner guards.
If it is fouling at the back of the inner guard then, as has already been suggested, added extra positive castor will help. Be aware that this will most likely require you to trim the front edges away from your guards.

It's hitting the footwell section to as I read it so hammer time.

Adjustable castor arms will help to some degree. And if running camber tops, rotate them 120deg to get castor and camber adjustment

From memory you have a ute so no issues on rear guards

I saw the reference to the footwell too but I am also wondering if it is hitting the inner guard at the front.

To the OP - What size tyre are you using?

I would expect that a 195 or 205/50 should not foul the inner guard or footwell with a decent amount of positive castor. Some negative camber will most likely be required to tuck the wheels under the guards.

Currently on my test fit rim I'm running a 195-50 but once I get my actually rims they will be fitted with probably a 165 or 175.

I may have to look into the castor thing, the car is already running negative camber. And yeah the wheel hits on the front lip of the guard but that's easy fixed, I've already informed the panel shop that it will need some trimming done.

If I can I'll get a photo up tomorrow and show us what I'm working with.

Cheers for the info so far :)

Castor is how far forward/back the wheel is. Every car has a castor specification.

Is your wheel hitting or your tyre?

The usual problem is the tyre hitting the footwell. You can hammer it or cut and re-weld.
