concern with numerous unwanted listings coming up in the search results
page. I will be forwarding a copy of this email to and a report to them
to have them investigate this issue.

While this matter is being looked into, may I kindly offer the use of
the Advanced search option as a remedy just for now that way you can
still make some searches for items on the eBay site without having to
look at a lot of irrelevant search results. Rest assured that this
matter will be looked into.

I'm glad I was able to give you the information needed to sort things
out.

Well, I have a not so patronising reply in mind. Stay tuned.

Advanced search is a joke too, because people don't classify items correctly it misses some items that should fall within parameters.

Eg used gearbox not in correct area. My searches take longer due to the way people list stuff (I search for misspelt items too) found tyres under tryers once 99cents for good years ;)

Don I know this for you is partly for the enjoyment of rattling someones cage, partly for the validity of your concerns.

(I hope I'm not making myself look stupid by mentioning something everybody already knows!) But if you do really want to make searching for items on Ebay easier then let me introduce you to my little friend - . No you didn't miss it - , minus is the answer to some of your concerns. For example, if you're searching for Datsun 1200 but don't want to show results for coupes you just put -coupe in the search box. You can put as many exclusions from your search results in there that you like. So you can just exclude all of the common items that are coming up that you don't want for example- datsun -toyota -sticker -cap etc, etc, etc.
It makes life a lot easier!

eBay won't accept you 2c demacoz- please rebid in 50c brackets.

When is eBay going to fix all the sellers that mispell, miscategorize or add irrelevant keywords to searches (like adding "Datsun 1200" to an advert for generic battery cables).

eBay says they are looking into it, but how can they change hundreds of people doing this...

damned if you do, damned if you don't. got ads in quokka (like the trading post in W.A.) and gumtree and you have ads that are clearly WANTED ads for datsun parts and you get plebs ringing up and asking about "the datsun you're selling" bahhh

I hate the auctions- for car but 1 part only call for more. Fthat
