Well if thats true thats stuffed me for my conversion,im still atleast 2yrs away from doing it.Although the guy that is doing the conversion for me says that it still can be done.If not well i guess that i will use the money that i was going to use for the conversion and buy one that has been done and regoed.

That's the best advice as mcdat says. I heard the roomies blah blah blah blah. Don't call the workshops unless they are also rta accredited engineers. It's only rta and the vass engineers advice that counts cause they are signing off on your legality and rego.

That's what I had to do for engineering in Vic. Lucky had good fair engineer

If u go to your local rta ask for (vsi no.48),vsccs licensed engineers.vsccs stands for vehicle safety and compliance certification scheme which replaces (ecs)engineering certificate system.

I've looked thru the RTA website and had a bit of a read and it says that no vehicle standards have been changed yet !

It is just the engineers that have changed and the way they have to go about things and their insurances.

the list of engineers is being updated all the time as all the engineers may not be recertified yet.

Read below taken from there website:

Frequently asked questions
Under the VSCCS, modified vehicles and non-standard vehicles may be assessed to check if they comply with legislated vehicle standards. Vehicles that comply with the standards and do not pose a safety risk are issued with a VSCCS compliance certificate.

Non-standard vehicles include individually constructed and personally imported vehicles.

The VSCCS replaces the Engineering Certification Scheme (ECS).

Note: There are no changes to NSW vehicle standards under the VSCCS.

If you are interested in becoming a certifier of significantly modified vehicles and non-standard vehicles, visit our VSCCS licensed certifiers page

If you are a vehicle owner with modifications to your vehicle, visit our VSCCS information for vehicle owners page.
