It's pretty much the same build just built by someone I find more competent and interested enough to help me out..

when the weights have been locked up or welded,dizy only has set timing(no advance)what you set it at ,is what you have all the time,doesnt matter what rpm.

D, why not put a ecu with retardable timing & fuel injection , with a 50hp nos kit also on methonal. that should wake it up a bit as well, lol

That's an A15. Add $1500 for the twin carbs & the other stuff.

Someone should do a spec engine, a formula easily reproduced, then dyno it. A "how to make 100kw".

Too bad Nismo doesn't sell crate engines.

Thats a great idea DD.

If someone in Vic wants to do a documented build up, I`ll supply the dyno.

Well currently i have an A15 stilling on an engine crane which is booked in to get a Full engine rebuild with bore new flat top pistons, crank (myb a small stroke if possible) ect.

The engine currently has a mild cam in it with a down draught carb, but will be running twin side draught webbers, extractors and a bigger cam so when i get the engine back and have it all back together ill write up a document on all costs and include pictures.

After that have a dyno run with the engine to show spec's - hopefully with the above spec's around 130-150 hp (so close to the 100kw) but hell id have to wait and see.

But other wise i may hook up the TD05 turbo from a wrx depending on how things go power wise

We would need to know:
* Cam brand & model number along with specs
* Bore size
* Tolerances (piston-to-borec clearance, ring gaps, etc)
* Carb model, plus all venturis/jets/bleeds documented
* Air filter brand & model (does it use horns?)
* Manifold part numbers (or at least casting numbers with photos)
* Extractor model & brand with sizes of runners + photos
* Exhaust pipe specs
* Muffler size, brand & model

All this information is needed if anyone would re-create it the same.

Well ill most certainly see what i can do, my mate works at the store so i should be able to get as many detailed pictures as possible as well as the exact part numbers and most of the other things i can work out or already know.

But don't hold me to it, ill see what i can do and attempt my hardest to get something written up to the best of my abilities.

The engine is planning to head off to the shop march the 13th and depending how long it takes for all the parts and labor to be completed on the engine plus getting it back into the car and all running it will be sometime before ill have all the info but ill see how things go and try write up things along the way.

Nickmitty, Yeah, the dyno is in the shed. Its a hub dyno. If you wanted somthing tuned or tested just let me know. Ive played with plenty of turbo stuff, Inc A series over the last 22 years.

DD, im making an A series test bed. What about I put a stock engine on it, then document each modification and power increase. I might need to borrow some carb options for the test. But i have several blocks/bottom ends, cams and heads.

That sounds like an awesome idea! I have no doubt so many people have poked money into something hoping for a power increase only to find it was a waste of money!
It's be awesome to have some upfront info on what works and doesn't.
I might get you to play with my GX carbed A15 when I get it in the ute. Be interested to see what it makes and what improvements can be had with a few tweaks.
