Yeah great idea.. where bouts in Vic are you ?? is it your dyno ?? The short motor is pretty basic to itemize and price. May vary slightly from engine builder to engine builder. And same with the head. I will see if I can get receipt for my head. Its a H89 recoed with standard everything except HD valve spring and 6 hours of porting. (Or if i didnt hear right- 6 hours labour on whole head) .. Unfortunally my engines are forced and efi. Or I would give it a crack

Here's a nice example of what you can potentially get out of an A15..

Mick's motorsport A15 running 11.4's 1/4 quater mile smoking a stock R35 GTR

a spec motor would be pretty sweet, but would you have to do it a few time to get an average result?

Thats a great idea DD.

If someone in Vic wants to do a documented build up, I`ll supply the dyno.

That's an A15. Add $1500 for the twin carbs & the other stuff.

Someone should do a spec engine, a formula easily reproduced, then dyno it. A "how to make 100kw".

Too bad Nismo doesn't sell crate engines.

A 100kw engine worth ..is that a trick question ?? factor in reliability/quality parts etc. Even then you could blow a 15k motor if you treat it wrong in minutes. Im upto 6k+ on a motor and hoping to get a tough 100kw's. I believe around $3500 to $4000 for something respectable.

Yeah, you're right, don't need to specify A15 given the context.

So far no one is giving cost estimates. I'm sure they could get 600 HP out of an A15 given a $350,000 budget. For one thing they could machine a new block and head out of billet.

I was thinking that what it's worth is not as interesting as what it costs to build. Because there aren't very many for sale.

Well we were talking about a15's so I didnt think I would have to stipulate an a15.

I can buy 100kw engines for $200

A better question is how much would it cost to build a 100kw A15?
