direct injection turbo. And that is it's econonomic format. Wind up the boost. What was that ugly car called that these were destined for? Like an ugly murano or whatever they call it.

Uglier than Murano - it is from last year's Nissan Juke.
And from the Nissan Tiida. Hide your children. It's got DDT.

wikipedia is your friend.... well most of the time :)
It has more torque than my 4.5 tonne campervan which is 128lb ft. 177 lb·ft (240 N·m) Very fat torque for a little engine problem is its ugly as the cars Why cant Nissan put beauty back in engines!!! Mazda do a good job and so do the Germans wonderful quality though for efficiency so features of the MR16DDT are: offset crank isotropic finished crank Sodium filled exhaust valves Nano finished camshafts Beehive valve springs Twin variable valve timing control (VTEC really!) (CVTCS on intake and exhaust valves) Turbo-charged and intercooled Compression ratio of 9.5:1 Improved fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions Light weight design and reduced frictions Direct injection (liscensed from Mitsubishi?) Applications: 2011–present Nissan Juke 2011–present Nissan Tiida (hatchback) 2013 Datsun VB10GX :)

How much does it weigh? Lighter than CA18DET?

by far Id say as an example similar sized engines eg. Ca18de block with main caps and girdle 42kg VS Suzuki M18a with main capas and sump 23kg
Suzuki head has slightly bigger ports than four port Ca18de with even better angles and compact combustion chamber design yet weighs 18.5kg while Ca18de weighs 24.5 kg, ten years later big weight difference! The numbers are impressive no doubt for the mr16ddt however Id rather a modern flathead motor in alloy with all the latest technology but a four cylinder. Ive always loved the simplicity of Flatties, drop a valve who cares! :) http://www.uncommonengineering.com/

I actually spent quite a bit of time reading up on this at least what I could find and was hoping this may be one of the 2013 release's for Australia if it is it would only a matter of time before someone came up with an aftermarket front bar for the Juke to fix its broken nose look

The std Juke may be ugly but just google the Juke-R
![]() Also had a slight drivetrain upgrade to match the beef.. You can view topic.
