stock1200ute1,
wow! well done..stock brakes?
u did very well considering ur suspension and brakes were stock.and at 17, u've got heaps of potential mate.
that being said, i have alot of respect to the cars that are driven to the track, and after track racing, are then driven home.
also i haven't had a chance to look at my 1200s, but do utes and coupes share the same rear end leaf spring and shock setup?

what a good fun weekend!
Got pinged for noise first up, so cut up one of the tow car`s steel mud flaps to deflect the sound a bit. I missed the next sprint, but still had a few goes at try to tame the track!
Had a ball chasing down Zeds!
I had added more toe, camber and rate to the rear for this weekend and it felt alot better in the high speed corners than last time. No PB but fairly happy w times.

Great to meet heaps of the guys from here.

Particularly liked the Sunday show and shine. A more relaxing day and a good opportunity to stop and talk to everyone.
Some very cool cars too!

I might just have to head to QLD in 2 years for the next one!

Your car wasnt set up, bloody hell... Try driving the body rolling spaceship i did! haha
I worked it out roughly using revs and tyre diameter i was doing around the 180kmh toward the end of the straight, but who knows...

Oh im an amateur too ed, first time driving on a big track and with other cars....only ever done 2 hill climbs before and they weren't timed.

Name of the game, have fun. Think my skills better suited to hill climbs, that outright speed although a thrill scared me a bit as my car,not set up for it really and my skills at what I reckon would be 200kmh or close too aren't as good as I would want them to be.

yeah she is pretty popular up there!

my first drive of the car was at wakefield last year,
i did a few 1.11 laps with its current setup

the car is still quicker than the driver though

oh yeah, i think the speed cut in the CA ECU was preventing me going any faster by the time i reached the start of the grid on the main straight

Missing comments while writing one :S

We had great fun Michael, was grouse, was even better having someone that was patient even to have a pain in the ass amateur following him all day (thanks Mic.)
It was good having a bit of friendly competition pushing each other etc. And yeah, i did learn a thing or two, was good having my own private guide to ease the newbie experience!

Show and shine was great, some excellent inspiration!

was a great weekend, soooo many nice datsuns out there!

unfortunately i had some electrical gremlins that took the fun out of my day at the track
i only got 5 laps in (including the 3 sighting laps) before it struck trouble, best lap was a 2.02 in my sedan

160rwhp sr20de/ve with all the goodies as far as suspension & brakes go..
with my 4.88 diff i topped out right on 200kph (7600ish rpm) well before turn 1

my wish list for next time: just a trouble free day, so i can do some laps and learn the car/track

it was great to see so many having a go on the track too, there were plenty of smiles in the paddock
