So today I purchased a Dizzy. Model.Hitachi D4A..Its datsun A series one.What did it come out of ???

Standard A14 and A15 use 76 mm pistons and rings.

I baught 79mm rings today Will work? ,Told me that its the correct size,So ill have to get the engine measure.then.

A clean-up overbore is not uncommom, so you should measure your engine. This type of overbore is not done to increase HP. By contrast an overbore of 2.5 or 3.0 mm is done for HP increase. The latter will increase the displacement of an A15 to 1608cc.

Engine was purchased today so Weekend am starting to buy my parts Rings,Main and connecting Rod Bearings.Timing Chain.etc...

Confirmed Early distributor will work in A14/A15. Just use the newer plate on the bottom of the distributor -- and it needs a bit of filing to bolt it on.

Early A-series and Late A-series distributors differ. The changeover was 1974.

Prior to 1973 the distributors bolt on different. A12 engine after 1973 uses a different distributor. So A12 distributor from 1974-1995 fits an A15.

If you want to use 1967-1973 distributor in A15, I'm sure it will work, but don't have details of exactly what to do. Use the early plate probably.

Thanks,Not sure if i asked this question before,But it seems that all a series distributors can interchange between engines,Want a12 distributor into a15.But is tere any modification needed to the plates,under the dizzy?
