Draw-through supercharger setup

Went for a ride in this a couple of days ago. Pulls pretty hard even at lower RPM, keeps pulling as it revs.

Yeah until the alternator went out on it. Luckly it was only walking distance from home. Thanks Dave for helping me push it on the trailer. Went from the stock 50 amp to a special order 60 amp. I plan on adding a second MSD spark box for exhaust plugs. Also Im heading up to the Volkwagon scrap yard to look for a dual fan setup for my radiator. Ive been having over heating problems when i run the car hard.
Still no dyno or quarter mile run on this thing. Its not ready yet.
I did bet a 2012 Ford Mustang with the 320hp V6 motor in the 1/8 run.

Datsun Z-series engine

From the passenger seat, it felt like it pulled as hard at 3000 RPM as what the A15 did at 8000 RPM.

might sound stupid to you, but what is "exhaust plugs" you mentioned? is it for emission?

Yes. For emmsions but both intake and exhaust plugs fire at the same time. Believe me they do. The computer system for the 720 pickup works the system and decides when to fire the exhaust plugs such as under heavy loads, uphill, towing and such. Im not using that computer so my plugs default to fire all the time. If I pull the exhaust coil wire, the engine drops RPMs at idle.
A second spark box will make a difference.

I can remember working on those engines during my apprenticeship. We were freaked out by the fact that they have 8 spark plugs in a 4 cylinder car! Bloody confusing re-routing spark plug leads too!
They must be standard fitment in an Aussie sold car. Can't remember what, early Bluebird maybe?
Good engine though. Would love to know what power it makes. Could be an interesting and cheap conversion option is they're available at wreckers here.
Is it the standard transmission? What car are they fit to in the States?

The twin-plug head allows for very lean mixtures without damaging the pistons -- and without bad emissions. So you get very good fuel economy.

The CA20 twin-plug engine returned 43 mpg in the Stanza. That's 18 km/l.

* More HP
* Better fuel economy
* Lower emissions

Z20 twin-plug was used in S110.

The Z24 twin-plug engine was used in the 720 Pickup.

In Japan they used more eight-plug Z-series than in USA.

Remember the Z18 Turbo? We don't. It was never sold in USA. But at least we got the largest one, the 2.4.

Transmission is a standard 5-speed. It's a FS5W71B box, same as most Datsun/Nissan RWD. Z-series and KA-series use the same transmission bolt pattern.

Shifter comes out about 4" back from stock.

Engine fits the stock 1200 engine compartment.
