Can you get that registered? The 12A is 1146 cc, so at the x2 rating that is 2.3 liter equivalent. Too big for Datsun 1200 in some states.

If you put a 12A from s2/s3 rx7 it's the easiest swap with most power gains, ive owned n built 13b n ca18det, the ca is a very expensive n longer build that a 13b/12a, if I had to choose between the two I would stick to a rotary..plus when you pull up to the lights n your ported rotar is pulsating the ground everyone stops n stares biggest head turner, but you also attract police haha

Well it looks like I have finally made up my mind :) at this stage its looking like its going to be the N/A Rotary A12.

Just throwing it out there, Sykine is selling a proven 180hp atw A12 with fantastic in/ex manifold designs, arp rod bolts with tuning at his own designed wheel dyno.
Just need a cheap ecu and gearbox which will make it easy to engineer fun and economical to boot. In the end youll have a proven engine capable of much cheaper running costs and installation all up. Add up all the rotary requirements to make it fit, parts & tune and youll see the A12t is a winner.

you'd just run the 12a 5spd preferably series 2 or 3, its not that hard to mount the motor in there you just use rx3 front mount system and mods to the tunnel are nothing major. no you can't use the 13b kit from maddat as i think it utilizes the center mounts on a 13b, most people using a 13b will go for the 12a front cover and use the rx3 front mount system

If I was to run the 12A rotary which gearbox would I be looking at running with it, preferable somthing which wouldant take to much modifying to fit.
Also noticed that Maddat didant have a engine fitting kit available for the 12 rotary would I use the 13B kit instead or is thier another kit available to fit that engine?

how many turbo cars you driven? how many rotor cars you driven? you should base your decision on which one you like better, and try build it yourself its much more rewarding

personally i think you should rotorise it! i'll go a heavily ported n/a rotor over a ca18det every day of the week, the sound is just awesome and there's plenty of power. mine used to power skid no worries just stomping it in 3rd gear muhahaha lol

Yer it is a good exsperiance to build it yourself. but in sayin that i bought an already converted ca ute that needed work and its been off the road since september geting work done, and there are guys on here that have been building theres for over 3 years... you jst have to have a real timeline in your head

I agree best case scenario would be to buy one already modified. Only trouble is that I wouldant be able to get that sort of cash together, and also I wouldant get to build it myself. My plan would be to get the engine and gradually buy all of the other parts needed for the build.
Then when I have what I need for the build take it off the road and install the engine.

I rekon get a ca18 turbo you wont be dissapointed! plus everyman and his dogs done it so theres tones and tones of info on it and theres plenty of places to get mod'ed parts. but in all honestey it will be much cheaper and less effort to jst buy one someone else has poured 40 grand into and are jst keen to piss off for under $20,000
