if i was an engineer doing my own car i would haha

here's the chart page 11
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/road ... A_Engine_01jan2011_v3.pdf

just read thru it and if the 1200 is classified as a commercial vehicle its says there's no actual recommendation for a limit, have i interpreted/read that right?

mattkinsela - No worries, feel free to give me a call if you want to organise something or just need a bit more info.

Lethal_john - Yes, you have read it correctly. If the vehicle is a commercial vehicle (category NA) there is no set limit, however as I said just before if it isn't safe then no engineer will put his name on it.

Can someone help me and provide me with the VSCCS engineering authorised list from the RTA website.

I can not find it currently. I last looked at it about 2 months ago but can not see it currently.

I'd love to have you look at my car matt but you are just a little bit too far away from canberra to cart the car around.

Technically yes, I would be very serious about the brakes, suspension and tyre requirements if it were to be done. The traction setup in the rear would also need to be fairly substantial. If you can't accelerate in second gear without burning rubber then it wouldn't be classed as safe...

I did some compliance for a well done ca18 coupe just last week and it was very drivable due to the use of properly reset leaf springs and semi slick tyres.
