Coondle West (Our stage) -
Coondle West Special StageGeneral Road Closure Information
Road Closure infoFor simplicity, ill just copy an paste much of last years information as little has changed.
Work is underway to get all things ready.
This year, the race will only run on the
Saturday only unfortunatly.
Plenty of camping space avaiable, and a rosting bonfire will also be the go. (Complete!)
Food will be abundant,as well as softies, but it is BYO booze. (offers to help cater are always welcome)
Kids are welcome. We had a few last year run amok and have a great time. Golf seemed to be favourite last year.
The Postie Challange will be again running. So get your posties ready for the best motorbike race event this side of the paddock.
Remember - if you are trying to win, then you have missed the point. The winner is not determined by the fastest lap, or any one specific "incient" but rather decided on total performance for the weekend, as judged by the offical panel consisting of Linds and myself. Areas considered are, fastest lap, best consistancy (slow, fast, level of incompetance etc), best take-out move, best crash, best injury, although this is not a definative list.
Bribes are accepted for favouritism, but no guarentees are provided. (ie beer will help, but I can still change my mind...)
Other games due to last years success will include some golf, cricket, french boules, footy and maybe some frisbee if I can find it...
Sleeping arragementsPlease bring your own bedding and tent/sleeping quarters. We do have some spares, but not heaps. contact me if you need help getting gear.
Floor space in the house is limited to kids only.
The big tin tent will have plenty of floor space, and it has doors these days. Its pretty water tight.
There is plenty of space out the back of the house, near to the bonfire for tents or what ever you have. Caravans, camper trailers etc are fine.
There will be a bonfire going out the back to keep us all warm into the night.
There will be about 4 spare eskys for drinks, and one fridge.
One thing I need to make clear folks, due to a previous incident.
No drink/drug driving, No idiots, no agro, no F**KbagsIf i find anyone that decides that they are above the rest of us and can behave as they see fit without consequence will find themsleves off the property without remorse.
If you are asked by one by myself or one of my team, to behave, hand over the car keys, or to stop what you are doing, i'll expect it to happen, else you will be asked to leave. If you can't control yourself, then don't bother turning up.
I dont need the hassle, and the cook certainly wont put up with it.
With all that in mind, the above is only a rareity, its not all doom and gloom, and most people if they are a little too loose, take it on the chin and realise they need to behave and just go about it.
Parking & Camping considerationsPlease remember that there are more than just you and your tent there. Even though space is plentiful, people still seem to want to cram into one space. (It must be a city thing, needing to be close to each other). Please dont block up the driveways. Park out the back somewhere, away from the driveways and bonfire area.
Last year, despite me asking nicely, I still had a number of people say
"Im your friend, you can do me a favour cant you? I always park here when I come round."
Sorry but tough titties. If I ask you to move your car, then please do so. I'll have no empathy for some who ends up with car damage cause they have parked in front of the main house access way.
Please park out the back as indicated folks, else it just gets clogged near the house and its difficult for everyone.
Some General Rules1. Everyone is to wear helmet, jeans, covered shoes, and a shirt at least.
2. Once it gets too dark, the Posties will be retired for the next day.
3. If you have had too much to drink, you will be asked to stop.
4. Please remeber that this is my house.
5. If you are asked to pull your head in by one of my Posse, please do so, else you will have to deal with the Cook.
6. Please offer to help out during the weekend. Many hands make light work.

Update 04-08-2012
Well, I havent yet done any planning for this event. I have been busy with work and will be falt out till the 25th of this month when ill get some time off.
Lucky for me I have the 17,18, and the morning of the 19th off.
I will need to be at the airport for late Sunday arvo, which is a real bugger. Its the best I could wrangle for the client.
Can I get a guage of intrest here for numbers, so I can start to organise the food requirements.
Some people may want to get a lift and not drive up, so if thats the case post up your availability or transport needs and Im sure someone can help out.
If there are people who need a map, Ill post up a google maps link here...
