You certainly got yourself a cool buy with that Y mate! Can't complain about the $1500 price tag!
I'm watching with keen interest, I'm about to get stuck into my 77 Y on my maiden resto/rebuild/tidy up job, so keep ALL the pics coming! It's a shame ur in Sydney, I'd be interested in parts ie bonnet and guards, cowl if they are available and what ever else you can part out... If you don't mind, could you please PM with what you may have on offer? Cheers, Craig

cheers craig. Yeah the bonnet and right hand gaurd have already gone to my uncle but still got immaculate interior with only one small rip in drivers seat, cowl, left hand gaurd, original carpeting in perfect condition. all the polished trimmings all straight.

Here's a picture of it before it came off the road when i had 1 week of lisence left.
Fender mirrors are Toyota TA22 Celica. Very hard to find Datsun b310 fender mirrors so i compromised for these as they are almost the same.

That's not a bad finish mate ... What kind of prep did you need to do with that?
I was considering powdercoating all the sub frame, cross members, stone guards etc for a nice looking finish, but that looks awesome. How much did you need to do the job?

well its actually really easy with the por 15. cost me $70 for the paint. and all you need is a paint brush. It self settles so it doesn't look like it been painted on with a brush just comes out smooth and you can hit it and it doesn't flake or crack just bends with the metal. I had my parts sand blasted but a quick wizz with a wire brush (grinder attachment) to remove all the grease and flaked paint will be enough. It's an awesome product and i would definitely recommend it just because its so easy gives a great finish. The can i bought was 1 litre I think but I haven't even used half
And once the lip is done and the car is back on the road I'll get to making a mould Andy :) You can view topic.
