Ive been having a few troubles with my coupe. when i go to turn her on, she just makes an electric sort of noise like the power was getting to the distributor, but the engine will not even start to turn over or anything. problem 2. the headlights will only work when they are on high beam (only the fog lights work on normal), ive checked the fuses and replaced the sealed beams and nothing ive no idea where to look now. once i get them fixed i can finally get it checked and registered, ive only driven her about a km since i got her and ive forgotten how she sounds
thanks fellas

I had a problem with my starter. It would just click and not turn the engine over. It would start just fine when i shorted the terminals with a screwdriver or coin. I changed starters and the ignition switch and had the same problem. I solved this by adding a relay to turn on the solenoid. The solenoid now gets plenty of current and i have not had a problem since. I guess the 30 year old wiring is getting tired.
As far as the headlights... I guess you've changed everything but the switch. Who knows, maybe its bad. Also, check the fuse with a volt, ohm meter or replace it. I've had a fuse go bad that looked fine but didnt work.

As far as the starter problem goes, I don't know. But I had the same problem with the lights on the Chickenhawk. Do the parking lights come on? If so, the problem could be in the dimmer switch on the steering column. I changed the fuse and then cleaned the contacts on the dimmer and they started working again. Hope it helps.
