i dont see how a booster will make it past the test?
it will just decrease the pedal effort. you still have the same brakes doing the work tell him to push the pedal harder! it'll stop. i had my rotary ute engineered with unboosted stanza brakes.

Hi Guys,
I did take it somewhere else.. the 2nd place took one look and said.. we don't do those cars here... so do I need to convince the inspectors, that these cars don't need a booster, because this test is irrelevant?? its an 81 model and it had un boosted drum brakes prior. Cheers Ed

What years the Ute? Depending on build date and factory specs it may have had a booster and legally still needs to be there.
Personally I hate them In datsuns. Take it else where

Hey Guys,
Ive had my step sons 1200 ute on the road for 12 months now. it has a stanza front end, with un boosted brakes. Rego guy reckons it is failing the brake test... I put the brakes in and reckon it stops fine without booster, I also have a booster which I suppose I now need to install. Does anybody here have hassles with non boosted brakes passing pink slip? Because my son is on his P's I turn up in a nice looking Datsun, which is lowered (and legal) and they treat me like crap.. I'm almost 40, built trophy cars, not a hoon .. but yeah they treat me like a leper... I even had one guy take one look and just say.. we don't do these cars!!! Here's a tip: if you're a young bloke or not so young bloke.. take your P plates off the car before inspection, or get your grand dad to get it done. Cheers Ed You can view topic.
