Pretty sure thats to much information and this guy isnt silly he would have worked out the carby was 180 out just by the fact the accelerator cable wouldn't line up and nor would the fuel line as its more to the front of the engine.

Yeah as supafatto mentioned, the float bowl should be towards the front of the engine. Best to set it up this way as it avoids the fuel washing up against the float bowl wall furthest away from main jets under acceleration. This has the effect of locally lowering the fuel level in float chamber over main jets which causes a lean mixture. If you set it up with float bowl to the front (as suggested), the fuel will wash up against float chamber wall over jets causing a local increase in fuel level over main jets instead. Arguably this makes for a richer mixture, but it's better than lean!

The adapter has 4 allen key studs already and mounting studs for carby were fine on old A12 mainfold.

Did u get the carbi to mount flush? If no you need to remove x2 studs from the manifold and replace them with Allen key bolts m4 or m6 by memory, and the carbi is mounted 180' out the fuel feed should be at the front and throttle cable should be on the fire wall side best of luck

Probably would have left it stock till it got through rego but atleast try and keep it looking as stock as you can. You said you took it in already so really they should only check the things that they knocked you back on.

Ok thanks, so does anyone think that I would have any issues with getting this through a blue slip for the registration if I removed the emission vaulves and blocked off the hoses?

Most Weber carburetors are not emissions-legal.

I would definitely use the automatic choke - they work great.

Ok cool, so I take it all of the emission vaulve thingys all need to be hooked up for rego?
Only I have been looking through the tech wiki and looking at the webber carby diagrams / pics. Non of them have the emissions hooked up, and it looks like thier are parts on the old carby for the emissions to hook onto but not on the webber.
Been searching the wiki for some pics of the carby set up with all of the emmisions so I can see how it all goes back toghter, still learning how to navigate my way around the wiki :)

No that is some Emission type valvey thingy you should be able to leave it connected to the manifold if thats where it came from otherwise just block off/redirect any hoses going to it and connect the wire to the connection on the back of weber or not. I noticed the weber still had the Auto choke stuff on it but i would ditch that at some point after rego. You have to block off one of the holes when you remove it but think it will appear when you remove the above but its only a small hole. Your right it does have a manual choke but Who uses them there a pain in the butt in my experience.
