how do i get the rear seal out of the a56 gearbox so it can be replaced???

The shield is part of the seal. Does it need replacing or are you doing it because you can? Because the orig ones are the best. Get a genuine Nissan on if possible. They are worth the extra few dollars.

The seal is actually leaking so it definently needs to be changed, soo you can't get the seal out???

Just put the box upside and tap around the sheild evenly untill it comes out.

I recently replaced this seal on my box with a Nissan genuine one but its still leaking heaps, someone told me there is also a bush that may be worn causing the leak? Is that correct?

Yes, the tailshaft slip-yoke is held in place by a (non-replaceable) bushing. If the yoke flops around, replace the transmission tail housing.

Another cause is a groove in the face of the slip-yoke.

Thanks for the info, that sounds like a big job, why is the bush not replaceable? I don't think the yoke on the driveshaft is worn.
