Brought a brand new plastic grille and the badge i got from one of u nice blokes dosent fit so now im after the 1978 badge now Cheers

Originally you said "im looking for the right badge thats supposed to be on my datsun ... Mines a 1971". The right badge and right grille for a 1971 ute is a stainless steel Grille and badge.
Since your ute has the wrong grille ... you can use any badge that fits it. Like an "S" badge for 1200 Sunny. Or a D badge for Datsun. They both fit the plastic grille.

ok then mate i didnt know the 71 grille was stainless steal i thought all the utes had the plastic one
