jaimecidpedro, The guy that had the dual Weber DGV's had the manifold custom made. I have not ever seen a manifold like that made by any company so I wouldn't bet on going for the conversion. If I were you I would save up for a dual Weber DCOE or Dellorto DHLA setup. I just put these on my car today and they are WAY better than the SU's and Weber DGV. For the sway bar on the rear, you have to connect it to the rear end using clamps that are just like exhaust clamps, it connects there using the sway bar bushings and then line it up with the end links and frame and drill the hole in the frame wherever it evens the sway bar out and connect it using whatever brackets came in the kit. I'd show you a picture if I had one of my car's rear sway bar, but I don't have a digital camera. Let me know if you have any other questions afracer78@aol.com-Andy

Hey dimlight,no problemo with the wider axles, you are on track, more backspacing and the wheels will be in place. Mid engine ...you are making me daydream....with guys like you around, datsuns will live forever. Cool . I am planing to make myself the traction bars as in the racing suspension article in the club. It should work fine,it should stop any posibility of rear steering(when one rear tire moves up and the other down) and also axle warp. I have also some words for Will, hey will, buddy, you are the man, tell me ,you say there is 235-50-13 tires in the land of NZ,o man, that is good news, how can I get in touch with a tire place, manufacturer,or else. Do you know how much they cost? I want to buy !help me out ,thanks Cheers Thankershuim Gracias Obrigado in 20 different languages! let me know Jaime

Jaime, yes it is BF Goodrich that makes the 245 and 265/50-14 tires. They are the only ones I have found making a street tire in a big enough size. I have already flared the fenders (with the always capable help of tensandtwenties) but the 200sx axle in the car already fills them up with the 195/60-14s. What I had planned to do is widen two of the wheels I have to the inside, basically make a 14x8 front wheel drive offset pair. Of course, if we go with the more radical idea of using a Maxima transaxle and making the car mid engine, all bets are off as to wheels and tires.

I know that we here in NZ can get 235/13" in a 45 profile. They're made for the big barges known as Holdens and Falcons!

Hey Dimlight. If you are droping that V 6 engine in there, you need the power ,those 245-50-14 (and also 265-50-14 available) are made by T/A BF goodrich,(I think t/a is made by BF,or it could be Goodyear,I am kind of confused, but positive it is T/A)... anyways, those tires on a 14X10,9 or 8 will work, not just look business ,but mean it,and are streetable, racing tires can not handle daily driving, would melt, this ones work. With some wheel/fender well work, you can drop the car in those tires. I used to have a VW bus(68) with a porsche 6 cyl engine, and I put those tires,245/50/14 on 14X8 wheels, and it flew off, unfortunately as I was to add more rubber to the rear,265/50/14 on 14X10,my van got stolen,my fault,I never installed any alarms nor gas cut of valve nor any security devices. I do not want to think about that story,it still makes me mad!!!! On the front of the 1200 I do not think the 14's would fit,but 215-50-13 (widest 13 available now for street use) on 13X8 would work fine and hold ground, also keeping the car low. The rear 245-50-14 's will work as train tracks. Have fun!

You knew I had to do it! Look, this topic has hit 30 posts! Sorry folks, I'm just that big of a geek. Back to the topic at hand, I'm looking at those 245/50-14s for the Chickenhawk. I really want some meat on the ground when I drop in that VG-35 I have on the floor.

Hey greg,I forgot to say,in 15 inch, you can make it ,because there is more sizes available in 15,you can get 45 profile in 15,that might work nice. That was going to be my plan after the 14 experiment dd not work, but I foung 215-50-13 tires available and I tried them on 13X 8 and they work fine,If I ever work on the wheel wells, and use the SR20 engine(not now,no money, but in the future it will happen),then I will need more tire in the back, there is one 14 inch size available in 50 series, which is too big without wheel well work,it is the 245 50-14 and even a 265-50-14. Obviously, these tires would stick good to the ground, but unless major wheel well work is done, the car would look as a "hotwheels toy car",not really my style.the 215-50-13 on front and this tires I just mentioned on the rear, droped 3 inches, and a SR20DET under the hood,Man! we are talking. This reminds me that I got to buy myself a lottery ticket. Keep cool. Jaime

Hy Greg. That is what I have been told too, that 235-50-13 tires are no longer available for street use, they make 245-45-13,235-50-13 and others indiferent denominations (like hoosier racing tires uses,is like a metric terminology) ...but only for racing, not for street. I like the performance and looks of the 13's,I made 14 X 7 front and 14X8 rear wheels for my datsun, but the tires available in 14 are also bad, only 55 profile or 60,no 50 nor 45,so unless big wheel well work, with 14 or 15 inch wheels or bigger, you can only use skiny tires, the wheels would be a max of 7 inches if it works, it is not my look,I like fatter tires and wheels to hold the ground,I am not into the chromed shiny wheel, skinny and inneficient. Nobody can tell about tastes,it is a personal thing. But if you want to get rid of your 235's,let me know,I want them. Do not forget, please,I have been looking for them for a while. I hope some manufacturer builds them again. Thanks Jaime

Jaime,
I've been having a heck of a time trying to find a suitable replacement (tire and wheels) for the little green car...The main thing that is making it difficult is that I'm a cheapskate, and I want to spend as little money as possible....
The last place I went to suggested a custom-made steel wheel from Calif (around $40 each) that will be a 15x7....While I was there, they told me that they (tire manufacturers) don't make the 235 50 r13 anymore....they said that Yokohama and Goodrich made that size, but they don't anymore.
I'm sure someone out there with more info than I've got would be able to tell us if that's true or not...
Take it easy,
Greg

That sounds like a perfectly acceptable mounting plan to me. Of course, you'll want to experiment some with placement. I'd think that there would be an added benefit of preventing axle wrap and brake tramp, but I'm not 100% sure.
