ok I have a 5 speed box I cant seem to identify anywhere.

it has on the bell housing
CA71B#3

NMCA#1 on the housing

Z9182 on the neck...

any ideas?

I was told its a series something bluebird gearbox?

That is a 71B series transmission, from mid 70s to mid-80s

NMCA is Nissan Motor Co. pty Australia

So Bluebird fits as they were assembled in Australia.

so assuming its not a stumpy box? how close to the stock hole will it be do you think? i am thinking about just getting a stumpy off maddat and selling this one. which would be better?

That was with my crossmember, which mounted the motor as far back and low as possible. Was not too much hassle to cut and weld, but if thats out of your league, get a stumpy.

nah yours if def different... mine doesnt have the 4 bolt shift box thing.... my stock s13 one does.
